Baby Quilt version 2.0

May 14, 2013 by Melissa

So my former coworker who is having a baby was convinced it would be a girl and I made an adorable baby girl quilt and HE WAS WRONG.

Here then, is baby quilt #2 – boy version.

Baby Boy Quilt

For weeks I’ve been working on my very time-consuming X+ quilt but yesterday afternoon I took a break and put this super easy quilt together. I think from cut to last stitch it took me 4 hours. It would probably take a more experienced quilter 20 minutes. I don’t know if it’s because of the easiness of it or because I adore this fabric but this little project just made me so happy. Backyard Baby by Patti Solinger and silver minky make for a really sweet little snuggly binky. I suppose at this stage it would be wrong of me to keep it.

What I learned from this project:

Mix in a fast, fun project when you’re feeling burned out. It can be refreshing to see something come together quickly and easily.

  1. It turned out beautifully! I know it will get lots of love and appreciation. I agree…sometimes a quick, fun project just makes your heart sing.
